  10. I.M.P. release number 1 is written by Jan-Pieter Veen
  11. and Scott Carmichael. I.M.P. plays .MOD files through
  12. the Soundblaster, the Soundblaster PRO, the PC speaker
  13. and any D/A converter hooked on your parallel port.
  14. I.M.P. has a nice graphical screen that works on most
  15. PC monitor types like Hercules,CGA,EGA and VGA.
  16. System Requirements:

  18. An AT-Machine (at least 10 MHz)
  19. At least 512 Kb installed memory
  20. Your favourite .MOD files
  21. A playing device (see above)

  23. If you don't like the speaker or your COVOX then we can
  24. help you get a cheap SOUNDBLASTER (C) comp. card.
  25. They only cost Dfl 175.- and they are 100% SB 2.0 comp.

  29. If you are running IMP for the first time,start it up with
  30. the extension -C This starts the config-menu.
  31. IMP automatically saves your configuration.

  33. To use the SHELL function you are advised to use a 386 PC
  34. this increases the sound quality and lets you run your 
  35. favourite music files in backround mode.

  37. While playing you can control the volume with the + and the -
  38. keys. I hope I don't have to explain these buttons!

  40. IMP is released as FUNWARE (we don't like the word SHAREWARE)
  41. you don't HAVE to pay if you use it, but a donation of at least
  42. Dfl 25.- will asure you that you will receive all new I.M.P. 
  43. versions for at least 1 year.The authors spent a lot of time 
  44. writing I.M.P. so please leave it as it is, don't edit it!
  45. Donators can also choose out of our MOD-GALLERY....
  46. We will fill your disk with good mod files when you ask for it!

  48. Any SYSOP who advertises I.M.P. will recieve free info and disks
  49. to his mail adress when he asks for it.If you run a BBS and you 
  50. would like to distribute I.M.P. then please write to us and we
  51. will get in touch with you.

  53. Next versions of I.M.P. will include full screen scope modes and
  54. volume control from the command line or in background mode.
  55. We are also considering building a default .MOD file into the 
  56. source code so you will always have music!!!
